BMW Cluster for ETS2, BeamNG and Forza Horizon: What Works in Each Game
Share
The question we get most often: will the cluster work in my game? Short answer: yes, if the game is supported by SimHub. Longer answer: every game sends slightly different data, so it's worth knowing what to expect. Here's how a real BMW cluster behaves in the most popular titles.
Cluster for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator
ETS2 and ATS are some of the best games for a real cluster because they send a lot of data. The speedometer and tachometer work live, plus fuel level, turn signals, high beam and handbrake. Truck RPM is lower than in a car, but you can set up scaling in SimHub so the needle uses the whole dial.
Cluster for BeamNG.drive
In BeamNG.drive the cluster shows live speed and RPM, and the range of warning lights depends on the car you're driving. The game doesn't send fuel level or temperature, so those gauges stay inactive. That's a limitation of the game, not the cluster.
Cluster for Forza Horizon 4 and 5
Forza Horizon sends data through its Data Out feature, which you switch on once in the game settings. SimHub gives you the address and port to enter. Speed and RPM work smoothly, which looks great in Forza's fast-paced driving. There are fewer warning lights here than in ETS2 because the game doesn't send all the information.
Cluster for Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione
In Assetto Corsa the cluster really shines, especially when drifting, where the tachometer is constantly working. ACC sends a similar set of data. The orange-lit E36 cluster is a popular choice among drift fans in AC.
iRacing, F1, Dirt Rally and more
SimHub supports 100+ games, so the cluster also works in iRacing, the F1 games, Dirt Rally 2.0, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2 and Le Mans Ultimate. F1 cars rev much higher than a BMW, but the RPM can be scaled to the cluster's dial.
How to set up the cluster for a specific game
Install SimHub, connect the cluster via USB and load our configuration. SimHub then detects the running game automatically, so you don't need to change anything when you switch titles. If you get stuck, we help remotely via TeamViewer or AnyDesk.
Which cluster should you choose?
If you mostly play ETS2, ATS or BeamNG and want as many working warning lights as possible, go for the BMW E90 cluster for PC games. If you drift in Assetto Corsa and love the 90s vibe, pick the BMW E36 cluster for PC games. Both are in BMW clusters for PC games and sim racing.
